Penderyn sees over 43,000 visitors a year, and their tours are very popular. In 2015 the Distillery won a major tourism award, beating, amongst others, the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff. The Distillery has also received several Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence.
Like all tourism attractions during this period, Penderyn’s Distillery Tours and Masterclasses are on hold due to the coronavirus. For visitors who are unable to climb the stairs to the mezzanine floor of the distillery, Penderyn have produced a film so these visitors could view the distilling process. After they watch the film, they re-join the tour where the tour guide explains about maturation. The film is presented by Global Brand Ambassador David Cover, and runs for 7 minutes and 42 seconds. It contains film and animation graphics explaining Penderyn’s unique Faraday stills, and the complete distilling process.
Penderyn decided to make this video available to the general public for the first time, and it has been viewed over 3200 times on facebook and over 520 times on Youtube.

As we were one of the first distilleries to release such a video during this strange time, we were very pleased to see that we were the first name on a list of virtual distillery, vinery and brewery tours featured in The Drinks Business.

Stephen Davies, Penderyn’s CEO said:
‘We decided to release this video to the public to allow people to see our distilling operation, and we’re delighted with the reaction. Whilst our distillery shop remains open, as per Government Guidelines, Penderyn hopes to reopen for Tours and Masterclasses on the first of June. However, clearly, we will only do this if guidelines allow.’
We will update as soon as we know when we can re-open. We hope you all stay safe and well during this time.
