We are delighted to have our house-style Madeira gain a 94% in the Ultimate Spirits Challenge awards in the USA, which were announced on Monday 12th June 2023. We also gained a Gold Medal for Rich Oak as well, with a mark of 92%.
Madeira was also included in the ‘Great Value’ category.
Dr Jim Swan, the late great Scottish whisky expert, was our first Master Distiller, and he said that our world class spirit should be matured in ex-bourbon casks, and then finished in ex-Madeira casks, which was unusual in the early 2000s. He also invented the STR casks (Scraped, Toasted and Recharred ex-European wine casks) which is in our Rich Oak bottles.
