Penderyn Distillery Llandudno has won two major awards – the prestigious Visit Wales Gold Award and also the Customer Excellence Award at the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Awards.
The team are delighted to win the coveted Gold Award as one of the Visit Wales’ Quality Assured Visitor Attractions, with a high score of 96% for their distillery in Llandudno. This not only means the distillery can display the Cymru/Wales quality mark of Wales’ official, nationwide quality assessment scheme, it also recognises the high standards and service levels offered by the team in North Wales. All the national assessing bodies (Visit England, Visit Scotland, Visit Wales, Northern Ireland Tourist Board and the AA) assess to the same criteria and award one to five stars, so we are delighted to have received this prestigious Gold Award.
With comments from the Visit Wales Inspector such as, “The tour was conducted in an outstanding manner. It was well paced and extensive in the information shared on the processes with close up views and information on the sustainability aspects used in the process too” it’s clear to see why they were awarded Gold.
Laura Davies, General Manager of Distilleries said, ‘This is a wonderful result. The inspectors came and were thrilled with the tour, the staff and the general atmosphere and hygiene of the building. We will bear this award with pride!’
Penderyn Distillery Llandudno also went on to win the Customer Excellence Award at the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards, which took place on Friday 11th November, with approx. 400 guests coming together to celebrate the success of businesses in West Cheshire and North Wales. The Customer Excellence award was designed for businesses that can demonstrate excellence and commitment in the ever-important area of customer service.
Dafydd Pesic-Smith, manager of the Llandudno Distillery said, ‘This is a great testament to the Distillery team by continuing to go the extra mile to offer our customers an above and beyond experience. We want to express our pride at the team’s latest achievement, as well as becoming an multi award-winning attraction within the first two years of opening.’
