Whisky’s smell, taste and look are all part of the experience, but do you know some distilleries add colouring to it? Caramel (E150a) is a common practice and distilleries do not have to disclose it on their labels (except in Germany, and a few whiskies in the US), but many whisky lovers prefer whisky without caramel. And yes, Penderyn have high-quality single malts so don’t put any caramel in our whiskies as the colour comes solely from the aging process in wooden barrels.
